Wouldn't ya know it!

The family van loaded down

Just getting started....

and wouldn't ya know it there was a piece missing and the company is only open Monday thru Friday so we have to wait to contact them and then we will have to wait for the missing piece. I guess... what's one more week to wait? We've been wanting to do this since Ryan was 2 1/2. Now it is 2 years later and there are 2 more reasons why we want to have a swingset. I think it will come in real handy with 3 little boys. We're all looking forward to the finished product.

Kidfree for a couple of hours

On Thursday night we attended an awards dinner.

What a BIG boy!

Evan had a weight check yesterday. He was 9 lbs 15.5 ounces. WOW! He had a follow up at the eye doctor yesterday as well. Preemies have risk of retinopathy of prematurity. He had a good follow up. He has been cleared from having that. He had his pupils dilated hence the funky sunglasses. We are still closely watching for symptoms of hydrocephalus. He will have an MRI on July 8th unless symptoms present before that date. He seems to be developing fine. Evan does have plagiocephaly which may be treated with a helmet if he does not have hydrocephalus.

Another update-I hesitate to let everyone know this because I don't want to jinx it...but he has been sleeping like a baby for 5-6 weeks. He has become a very predictable baby and he is so much happier. He goes to bed between 7-8pm and he gets up at about 7 am. What a dream! He likes to be home for naps though which makes it hard to be flexible with our days...which if you know me...you know I like to be flexible with our schedule. When we come home at naptime in the afternoon.....it is nice that 2 out of the 3 boys actually sleep.

Lots of pics of the boys!

Of course, I can't seem to get all of them to look and smile at the same time. Ryan and Jack do things to make Evan laugh but forget to look at me.

In the following pictures-Jack is complaining about Evan being heavy. Can you believe that? Evan heavy? I think he is about 9.5 lbs..We get an official weight this week.

Tornado Hits NC

9. I am so grateful that the tornado didn't hit our neighborhood and we are all safe and sound.

We happened to be awake last night when it started to rain really hard and got very windy. We looked outside and then it started to hail. Chad said that probably means a tornado is headed here. He turned on the T.V. and sure enough the news was broadcasting a tornado watch in our area. I got the 2 older boys up and brought them into the living room with us. Jack didn't wake up at all but Ryan watched the weather on T.V. and listened to it outside. We thought if the tornado came- I would run to the bathroom with the boys and Chad would run down the hall and get the baby and meet us in there.

Seeing all the damage that was done only about 10 miles from us was way too close for comfort. I can't even imagine losing everything like some did in this storm.

Last night when we were waiting and watching......I prayed for our safety but I also worried about our earthly possessions. Why in the world did I do that? I am sad that I was thinking about material things when we could have lost our lives. I pray that I can put all my heart into my Lord, Jesus Christ and not be obsessed over something that doesn't have anything to do with my eternity. I was thinking that I would be so distraught over losing all my pictures and memories. What is wrong with me? I know-I am sinner!

I pray that I can rid my obsession of earthly 'treasures' and honor and love the only true treasure there is-Jesus Christ.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Luke 12:34

Please pray for those affected by the storm.

Please pray for us tonight as we have another storm system coming in.

Please pray for Chad as he is working tonight-Lord keep him safe!

Mommy's Day at Ryan's school

Yesterday was Mother's Day at Ryan's school. All the Mommies got to spend the day at school with their little one. Yes, we color coordinated our outfits. He will probably cringe when he looks at these pictures 20 years from now. It was "Y" week at school. How appropriate. We wore yellow. We didn't plan for it to match the letter of the week....it just happened. The kids sang songs to us and gave us special handmade presents. He made a bobble head that was supposed to look like me. I will cherish it forever. You know me and my "hoarder disorder." The bobble head does serve a purpose. It holds recipe cards.

3 boys-1 swing

Ryan at 5 weeks
10/31/03

Jack at about 4 weeks
7/18/05

Evan at about 7-8 weeks
1/16/08
I don't know why I am blogging this....I was looking for a baby picture of Ryan for him to take to school and I discovered these pics of all of them in the swing. This swing certainly was a great gift. It's been thru 3 boys and I loaned it out for a baby girl to use.

Growing so BIG!

about 9.5 lbs

Can you even believe that this was Evan 5 months ago and 7 lbs lighter?

not even 2 lbs here

7. I am so very grateful that Evan is healthy and growing.

8. I am so very grateful for 8 years with Chad. It was our anniversary yesterday.

Goal!

Ryan scored a goal at his soccer game on Saturday.
There he is down below to the right, throwing the ball in.
There he is visiting his fans on the sidelines.
